Tesla Recalls Almost Half A Million Vehicles
Tesla (TSLA) has issued two recalls on almost half a million Model 3 and Model S vehicles.
The fixes are relatively small, but will undoubtedly add strain to the service segment of the company.
The first recall is of the Model S which has a front trunk latch which could have been misassembled. Doesn’t sound too bad until you hear that the frunk could open while you are driving.
It can affect up to 119,000 Model S vehicles built between 2014 and 2021.
Tesla will inspect all vehicles affected and fix the latch if required.
The other recall is larger, affecting over 350,000 Model 3s build between 2017 and 2020. The rearview camera harness may have been assembled improperly.
The solution is to inspect all affected vehicles and install “a guide protector and new cable harness” if necessary.
